Licence P1242 contains the Platypus Discovery in the Southern North Sea. The Rotliegend reservoir accumulation was discovered in 2010 and appraised with a horizontal well in 2012. The discovery well encountered a 221 ft tvd column of gas and the subsequent appraisal well tested at 27 mmscf/d. Development studies are ongoing with the partnership targeting an offtake route decision in Q2 2019, with OGA FID approval by the end of 2019 .
There is an untested Rotliegend structure, Possum, to the east of Platypus and within range of the drilling centre.
